I am amazed as to the detail in the TomyTec scenes and buildings. Do you have a favorite or have seen a really neat one? Share it here.
I love those, all suitable for N gauge so if you have an N gauge set they will fit in nicely, I particularly like the steam pipes that are on the gantry over the road, I used to work at a steelworks and it reminds me of when I worked there, we had pipes and gantries everywhere!
I agree they are awesome and I'll probably be picking some up when I (finally) get round to building an advance/N gauge permanent layout. Firstly though I need to get some N gauge track and test out this claim that Advance will run on that as that will decide which track etc... will be needed Smile
I thought I have seen a video where they show an Advance running on "N" tracks but can't find it. There is this fellow that has modified many different Advance Trains to run on "N" tracks but I don't see what he did to power the trains. Maybe he shows what he did for the power in another one of his videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfJ3sXEJE-s
i like a lot of the tomix buildings, but sadly dont have a use for most. i am tempted by a small scenery pack that includes a public toilet block for the thomas layout, but at the same time i can make my own from cardboard or similar.

this pack: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOMIX-N-Scale-1-...SwBLlU5JY8
That is cool. Looks like a roadside rest stop with drinking fountain and road map sign. Don't know what the statues are but maybe this is a replica from a real place in Japan.
i actually asked the same question in the past. See this thread url: http://www.blueplastictracks.com/showthread.php?tid=603

According to UCWPEN, "N scale, the wheels are different from advance to n scale but the advance can run on n scale straights and curves but not points." He even posted a link to prove his point

Thats the video I was thinking about. Good ole PlarailMike, wonder what he is doing now a days since it looks as if he no longer is intothese thrains. Anyone in contact with him in the Plarail forums or on FaceBook? Thanks Leylandvictory2
Speaking from experience I have say stick to the plastic tracks when using Advance trains.

Tomix make a range of buildings that won't break the bank.

It sounds like there is a story there, do you fancy sharing your experience before make a similar mistake? Smile
