Interesting.
These appear to me to be largely same as items available individually from Chinese sellers on AliExpress. The version of the steam locomotive available there has "SOUTHWARD" lettering on the tender and is apparently of the same product line as the "SOUTHWARD" Thomas knockoffs. Same goes for the US style diesel and the Japanese style train, except they are not lettered "SOUTHWARD". The US style diesel does appear to be modeled after a Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose (except for the rods and spoked wheels) and it's cars appear to modeled after Electro-Motive FT cabless booster locomotives.

They would, incidentally, have not been operated together in real life as Baldwin used a multiple-unit control system which is incompatible with the standard used by other US builders.
I have not heard of this AliExpress Brtranz. Have you bought anything there?
No I have not Super, was looking there out of curiosity after a (non-Dumica) set appeared in a Google image search.
From Wikipedia: "Launched in 2010, [AliExpress.com] is an online retail service made up of mostly small Chinese businesses offering products to international online buyers. It is the most visited e-commerce website in Russia."
Some real Takara Tomy and Trackmaster stuff on there but also a lot of apparent knock offs of various sorts.
Here is one seller of the "Southward" trains mentioned: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/...99931.html
Thanks Brtrainz

I have joined as there are a couple knock off items I am interested in acquiring for their unique accessories.

Let me know if you had any luck. I was thinking that was the same as the alibaba site which is a joke. I found the battery terminals I needed, signed up for and account and they immediately deactivated it for "security reasons." No response from them on why. It will let you email the person or company that has the item, but no reply from them either. Maybe that site is only for wholesalers and the aliexpress is maybe for personal?

I will take a look, on there too to see if they have what I need to.
ive heard a good many success stories about ali express, but im yet to use them as i dont trust them. seems like the amazon dollar store.
I have placed 2 different orders from different sellers for some neat compatible accessories. Hope they are what I expect. I will fill you in as we go along.
Received my first package of my first of two purchases from two different sellers on AliExpress.com. I am pleased in it only took 14 days from day of purchase until I received it for this free shipping package to arrive and I am thrilled with this knock off product (follow this link to read and see more http://www.blueplastictracks.com/showthr...9#pid16039 ). But...I purchased and paid for two of these but they only shipped one. I have contacted the seller to see what they plan on doing. AliExpress is a lot like Ebay in which you can open a dispute and let them handle it. But before I do that I will see what the seller has to say. I will take a refund but I really want two because I was going to take one apart. I will update as I find out more.
Tell me what it's like super? I was going to order one but decided not to as I didn't want to be disappointed,
I added a link to a thread with pictures above Tramp
