Howdy Everybody! I'm New Here On BPT And Thought That To Start It All Off That I'd Show You Guys A Little Custom I Did This Morning With An Old Tomy Thomas I Had. I Removed His Face And Filed Down A Boiler Door To Fit On The Front, And Put A Front Lamp On For Looks!

Got It, Thank Ya!
Welcome to BluePlasticTracks Thejintymodeller

I am liking what I see and anxious to see what more ideas you have for customs.
Thank you Super! Trust me, Much more on the way! Wink
In my opinion, while the smokebox mod looks nice, the lamp at current seems huge, and very out-of place on the Thomas engine.
I hope that if you are to incorporate it into the custom engine that you find a way to make it look like it belongs more. Otherwise.. so far, so good.

Agreed. Besides, American elements do not fit with British engines, so I don't see this as a good/worthy mod.
Do you have a link for the Boiler door used? I have been looking for the right scale/model to use for some mods I have planned. Thanks and looking good in my opinion..Big Grin
Yeah I agree and have plans to replace it but at the moment i have it installed for mainly the pourpose of filling the hole in the boiler which sits on top. I have a smaller white one on the way which i feel will look much better

Thank ya! The front of this one came off of an HO scale engine I had thats motor burned out. I find that HO scale boiler doors fit well on Tomy and Trackmaster engines but often have to be filed abit to accommodate the holes from the faces, but it's not really much of a problem and can be done easily
Meh, I don't really care much if the American and British look cross. I know it's not exactly accurate but still it gives it character and that much more of a story to it making it unique
