Sunhuntin has created many Show Layouts with many mixed media's. If you haven't visited Sunhuntins huge site, its worth the trip. 'Show Layouts' is the third one down in the Menu on the left.

The general consensus in both model railroad and miniature war gaming communities with Plasticville is that the O scale stuff is meant to work with either S or O gauge stuff. In the post WW2 era, there was apparently some crossover in the two scales.
The HO stuff is a bit more consistent but as is often the case, it’s a bit compressed in proportion.
