Australia South Maitland Railways had a strong hold of 14 steam locomotive, built in 1911 till 1925. They were powerful locomotives and used throughout the system till 1983. The neighboring Richmond Vale Railway used them until 1987, making this the last steam locomotives ever used for revenue freight work in Australia.
All of the 14 steam locomotives survived.
