Hey all!

I've recently been building up my Thomas collection, and I'm considering trying to locate a used Plarail/Tomy or Trackmaster Donald and Douglas. How much are they usually worth? And is it better to try get them off of Ebay or Jauce? I'm from New Zealand so I'm pretty used to the high shipping prices.

From my searches it seems like Douglas is the real difficult one to find. I'm also dubious of the fakes that float around.

If you have any advice/experience in locating them I'd love to hear! Cheers  Big Grin
With Donald and Douglas, you'll have a good time finding them in Australia and the UK. Douglas wasn't released on his own in Japan, and not in TOMY form in the USA- just Hit Toys/Fisher Price.
Oh cool, thank you! I'm guessing they'd mostly be posted on Ebay then?
Yes, eBay is best, although it may be hard to find a reasonably-priced Donald or Douglas on eBay Australia from what I’ve seen. You should be able to find Donald for around 45 AUD on eBay UK or US, though (shipping may be expensive). Douglas is usually priced higher, somewhat like Oliver, and it may be hard to find him for under 80 AUD.

You can try for Donald from Jauce, but I suggest getting your Douglas through a non-Japanese site (as he goes for pretty high prices there, obviously).
There are very high quality bootleg versions of Donald and Douglas on ebay for around 30-40 dollars
Or from AliExpress for considerably less (though I haven't looked recently).
Aren't they the counterfeits?
So is there any way to contact who ever makes these knock offs? I would like to see if they would be interested in remaking Duck, Oliver, Stepney, BoCo, Splatter, Lady, Skarloey and Rusty or maybe even original characters like Daisy, Ryan or Rebecca who never saw the day in TrackMaster 1.
Surely they did release Stepney, Skarloey, Rusty and (possibly) Duck, but Oliver and Lady would be impossible since Fisher Price never made them. That factory merely has access to FP's old equipment from before 2014, and none of the Asians who work there would know Thomas & Friends well enough to know the never made engines (or wouldn't be able/allowed to add new designs and moulds anyway).
The counterfeit Donald and Douglas do look decent, I'd personally prefer the original Tomy models though as I'm hoping to film with them and replicate some of the Thomas episodes.
