While scrolling through a Japanese auction site, I came across a tin Plarail streamlined locomotive, I genuinely have no clue about this model, could anyone here be able to share some light on what it is? any information would be helpful, thanks!

That's the C53-43, which was sold as a 40th Anniversary limited edition. Ucwepn made a review on it:

Without watching UCWEPN's video (so I may be repeating some of what he says)...

This was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the existence of Plarail, which started as Pla-Train in 1959.

As the name implies, Plarail was made from plastic right from the beginning (if we discount for the moment its wooden antecedents), but at that time tinplate was the mainstream material for toy trains. This anniversary model was released with the 'what if' concept that Plarail might have been commercialized using tinplate. Taking advantage of the characteristics of tinplate, which is easy to shape into curved surfaces, they chose the streamlined C53-43 for this project.

The coach is a Ma I Te ( マイテ ) 39 observation car.

Ma = over 47.5 ton and under 52.5 ton
I = First Class
Te = Observation Car
Interesting, thank you both for the information, maybe I'll consider buying this now that I've learnt what it is
This is definitely one of my favorite Plarail models, I’ve wanted to get it for some time but have never purchased it. I’d encourage you to get it!
Thanks everyone for the information. Smile
@TrA I was going to try for it anyway, not sure if I'm in with much chance if its a rare model though, might also be a bit on the pricey side, I'll give it a go anyway though
