Isn't that the South Korean bullet train? I've seen models in 'N' Gauge of it released recently by Kato, so it seems that maybe this is quite a high interest train in Japan at the moment...

In Japan or possibly China? Is that Chinese on the box?

As it says on the box - it's MTR, Mass Transit Railway (Hong Kong), and, in this case, it's the MTR High Speed Rail! 😊

I have a few Hong Kong MTR commuter trains, and they are all made by Tomy Asia Limited, Kowloon, Hong Kong, so I suppose this one is made by them too...

yes, a high speed train that connects to and from Hong Kong to china.  The older version of the cross country train has been discontinued as a result of this new high speed train service.

according to the youtube video, you have the option of buying the deluxe set or just the train itself.  Preorder starts on July 20 on the MTR website.  I am not sure if it will ship to places outside of China or Hong Kong.

This train, the Vibrant Express plus it's China Railway equivalents [Hexie Harmony et al] are the most common bootleg Plarail models on Aliexpress haha

Interesting to see they're finally making a legitimate model of at least one lol

Release date is 2nd August. The only shipping destination allowed on the order form is Hong Kong.
