Why doesn't Fisher-Price sell TM2 track packs any more? Now there are (AEG) engines, greatest moments, sets, multipacks etc. But no track packs. They used to produce different track packs (8 straight tracks pack, turnouts and switches, tracks of different lengths pack, etc.). Now that's gone. Why is that so? Tracks can only be purchased with sets, which usually contain very few straight tracks or none at all. Why can't only tracks be bought any more? Old TM2 track packs are hard to find these days.

By the way, none of the new (AEG) sets contain curved tracks to make a 90-degree turn. All sets contain only curved tracks of which 6 make a full circle, and in order for the train to turn at a right angle there should be tracks of which 8 make a full circle. And there are no such in the new AEG sets. There were nice TM2 curved tracks packs (of different lenghts) with which it was possible to make a 90-degree turn. Today they don't make them anymore...
I would like to say that that's surprising, but it's not. Mattel's focus now isn't to make sets that are useful for building layouts, instead it's to make the most attention grabbing set possible.

I love building layouts, even more than actually using them, but it seems that every year regular tracks become harder and harder to find in sets.

I think at this point the best option if you're interested in getting some normal track is buying lots of it on eBay. As I don't think Mattel are thinking of adding track packs back into their range any time soon.
I wanted to get some straight tracks, say 2-3 Straight Track Packs. They can no longer be found at normal prices on eBay or anywhere else.
Maybe someone could try to 3D print some, however I think it would still be extremely expensive to make
I’m certain I have the three bags of track you are looking for, I’ll look in the morning. I believe I also have 3 of the buckets of track that was released for TM2.

Those buckets were nice too, but they contain mainly coloured tracks... I raised a question of discontinuing simple gray TM2 track packs. I needed some TM2 straight tracks and 90-degree curves for a new project of mine, but I'll manage somehow... When I make videos, I just take some rails out of my main layout, and put them back after I finish shooting. But if a company produces trains and sets, they should make track packs & extensions too, right? What about 1/2 & 1/4 straight rails? Gone.

Also, those new AEG curves (6 in a circle instead of 8) with which you can't build a 90-degree curve are really annoying... For example, with the new tracks you can build this:

...but not this:

Or this:

As for simple curves, you can have this:

Or this:

But you can't make a 90-degrees curve like this:

That's bad.
That just makes me want to cut the track so it does work. What a TERRIBLE design!

i don't really use TM2 in my small layout. So it doesn't really bother me. tomy has the best track pieces hands down.
