Memorial Day sales....

Was in Minnesota visiting family this weekend. There's a store there called "Valu-Thrift" that my wife and I love to visit when we're in town. All weekend everything was 1/2 off. We went on Sunday, bought some things and on the way out of town on Monday while making a drop-off, I quickly picked up another lot. Here's the total haul over two visits. Sorry about the cellphone pics, our good camera is not yet unpacked.

Haven't tested all the engines yet, but RC thomas and his controller had batteries and work just fine! Henry's wire's are obviously broken, but at least I'll have a tender cover to replace the missing one from my other Henry.
A few accessories, parts and tracks

The HIT trackmaster road I mentioned in a different thread. This will be off to the trade forum soon, but feel free to get in touch if you're interested in it.

A large lot of Trackmaster track, with lots more straits than curves!

Even after sending most of what I find to one of his grandparents, I've got enough Trackmaster track (and finally found some adapters this weekend) to consider adding some trackmaster to the layout.

Also got a few Take-n-play items and some track, but those are already in my son's possession.

good finds!

sir handel goes with the log car and was sold with 3 logs. duncan goes with the open sided car with the cow, there would have been 2 originall.. both are rare pieces from the HIT era of trackmaster. when you find your camera, i would love if you could post a clear photo of the log car that shows its correct color as much as possible. my sir handel is missing his log car and im having trouble finding one due to having poor images which dont show the color properly.

Sure thing. We found the camera yesterday so I'll take pics of everything.

Thanks for the info. Nice to know there are some rarer pieces in there.
Here's the closeup pics of the haul.

First of all the log car. Here's a pic in good lighting.

However, this pick in shadow is actually a better example of the actual color of the car which has a bit of dark aqua in it.

The Ice boxcar was/is available with F.P. TrackMaster Dodge, and the brakevan is available, in a variety of colours, with various engines; not too sure about which engine that one came with though.

I'm not as familiar with the show, do the engines in the show have nameplates on their sides or is that an addition of the toymakers? Some of the name stickers are a bit nicked and I was thinking about just taking them off entirely.
These are the engines in the show with names on their sides(these are the ones currently manufactured; most likely subject to change at a later date): Bill, Ben, Donald, Douglas, Splatter, Dodge, Porter, Caroline, Iron 'Arry(SODOR IRONWORKS), Iron Bert(SODOR IRONWORKS), Lady, Salty, Spencer, Harvey, Connor, Caitlin, Stanley, Charlie, Billy, Hector, Skarloey, Rheneas, Peter Sam, Sir Handel, Duncan, Duke, Bertram, Rusty, Luke, Fearless Freddie, Murdoch, and Scruff. There might be a few that I've missed as I don't collect the narrow gauge Sodor engines, but I hope this helps; some are sticker decals, like Bill and Ben, while others are painted on directly, e.g., Iron 'Arry and Iron Bert.
