Wow, they are pretty big and is on James too!

Thanks Tales for the detailed pictures. Please could you show us closeup pictures of the trains outside the box?

Personally on looks alone, I think those traction tires stand out too much and gives James, Thomas and Percy a Tractor look. This could have been solved if they made them the same color as the wheel so they aren't as noticeable. Does this whole new line have these big tires? What does look good is that they appear to have gray/silver couplings so they don't stand out so much.

Yeah I've never really quite understood why or how Fredrickwong2000 has these items but like the others have said, he probably has some relation or deal with the factories near him so he's able to get a box or two of a finished shipment for his store. They're meant to be released in August too. He has previously been able to get some loose locos before their release such as Stafford, Green Salty, an partly unpainted Paxton, and a tenderless partly unfinished Hank, all these a few users on here have eagerly picked up.

I'm not entirely interested in getting anything here as I have limited myself to buying 2009-2011 or a little later TrackMaster but I was pretty fascinated by the Gordon's Hill Expansion Pack, which certainly looks like a good layout centrepiece, the Giant Thomas of TrackMaster if you'd like. I'm looking forward to seeing the line up of engines properly and I'm wondering how many characters will stay to be updated, as well as how the expected Tale of the Brave characters will fit into this. It looks like it may be going back to basics, and I'd like to know if there will still be any focus on certain special parts of the range such as Greatest Moments, Cargo and Cars, R/C, Talking, and those Target US exclusives.

It looks like the toys have been amped up a few notches with the TrackMaster range going from this fun motorized action range to being portrayed as this epic construction system with the strongest and powerful trains whizzing everywhere. What's next, anti-gravity tracks? Tongue Take-n-Play feels like this as well going from this portable railway to a Thomas version of Hot Wheels, while Wooden Railway is the only classic "la-de-dah everything's calm" system.

I didn't know they where that big, looks like they are changing everything Sad oh well, I'm defiantly gonna get the water tower, the thomas seems cool, but james looks weird

I may use them as RWS series engines due to their size, maybe customize them abit

Here are three new track packs: https://www.harbourroad.co.uk/acatalog/T_TRA_TP.html

No idea what they're called but I think they are in the similar vein as Straight and Curved, Switch, and Bridge track packs.

Something interesting for the European market, like Risky Rails Bridge Drop, and Castle Quest Set, I think the Avalanche Escape Set may be modified from the US version. Some of the pictures don't have the truck included with Thomas, and the item number on the website is BDP13, but on the Fisher-Price US site and other US sites, it is BDP14. This is the website I'm refering to: https://www.harbourroad.co.uk/acatalog/T_TRS_AES.html

Also, Troublesome Traps, Sort and Switch Delivery Set, and the Sodor Spiral Expansion Pack will be officially released in the US on the 26th June, according to the Fisher-Price online store.

New TrackMaster set, the Busy Quarry Set. Not bad, the layout's clever, the destinations look nice.

The track packs are also out in the UK, the names of two are the Maron Bridge Expansion Pack and the Tunnel Expansion Pack. No idea what's happened with Marion, but the James pack for Tale of the Brave is called Scared James. Geez, James is lucky getting two variants already.

Nice find! Normal "pre change" Thomas is pictured! As you said quite a clever but simple track design, Interesting flip load feature for the truck too. Will be interested to see it in person or at least on video Big Grin

A word of warning which I sort of mentioned before has been confirmed. Like Risky Rails Bridge Drop and Castle Quest Set, there are two versions of the same set, "Avalanche Escape Set" for the US/AUS, and "Thomas' Avalanche Escape Set" for the UK and Europe. The UK version does not include the truck with cargo, Scrap Heap Monster, and part of the sloping curved track. Beats me why Fisher-Price do that.

The US set is now on Amazon with an advertisement: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Thomas-The-Train-Trackmaster/dp/B00IQ8MTIY/ref=sr_1_17?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1404308404&sr=1-17&keywords=Fisher-Price+TrackMaster

And the UK set is up on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FISHER-PRICE-TRACKMASTER-Thomas-Friends-Thomas-Avalanche-Escape-NEW-Set-/291177463346?pt=TV_Movie_Character_Toys_US&hash=item43cb877e32

The same eBay seller has also put up all three small expansion packs including the "Raceway Expansion Pack" and both Cargo and Cars packs which includes "Dockside Delivery Crane" alongside the Tale of the Brave Greatest Moments packs.

With the TrackMaster 2014 redesign they could have just redesigned the motor to have 2 triple A's on top of each other and kept the body and wheels the same. Or they could have just made the actual motors faster like Plarail have done.

RE: More new Trackmaster sets mid 2014 - Ucwepn - 07-07-2014

I agree TrainMan2001, That the changes needed to be minimal and they should not call it Trackmaster anymore as it is no longer compatible with Trackmaster track so it is kind of false advertising. But they protect themselves from litigation with fine print on the box saying "May not work with all previous track, sets and destinations", Really? May not? ummm

It is basically a money grab in too many ways
* new locos wont run on the older track
* new locos wont work with any of the previous sets and destinations
* they tires are rock hard and not changeable
* they no longer free roll
* they use twice the batteries and a more expensive type
* all locos have the same chassis and wheel config
* weight of the locos and trucks is right down
* more inferior plastic is being used
