It was already clear to me that the Talking power trucks and tenders were all identical in size and their covers were interchangeable, but I never tried it with the three engines I have. It's a bit unfortunate how FP never made one with a coach or rounded roof van, meaning there are no perfectly smooth covers for them. A nice unintended feature that could've been advertised.

I didn't think the Boulder destination with Thumper would be a mediocre design. If they were to have him slide in and out of the mountain instead of swaying and hitting, maybe his arms wouldn't have broken off during intended play. The TrackMaster Boulder Mountain is not only designed better, but the way it was advertised made it seem more exciting too (not to mention worth buying). I totally get why it became so tricky and frustrating to find.

Hooray i got a mention in the video! Thumper is such (if not the most) obscure road vehicle character. I mean there are literally 3 videos of him on the internet! two are Muddy's and one is mine  Big Grin

The 'Under World' (literally) is looking great Muddy, are there any changes or additions? Is this the first Under World video in 'HD' as it looks fantastic in High Definition. Hmmm...might Golden Thomas hang out in the golden desert ?

Thanks Super.
Yes this is the first HD run.
Nothing has changed except for more dust on the tracks.
It’s the lowest maintenance themed layout of all time though, as the dust only adds to a sealed tomb effect!!
....Hopefully someday cobwebs will begin to grow around it too. Lol

Wait a minute. Were some of the pieces in the layout like the pyramids actual products by tomy? If so then that is quite interesting.

Hmmm...I have never looked this closely at the box....

I assume that this is the first set in what looks like a new series created as "Plarail Adventure" since the set number is "PA-1". Have there ever been any other sets since this that have used the "Plarail Adventure" title? And, is there a significance to the date in this sets title "Ancient Egypt D.C. 503"?

Assuming that DC.503 is the same as 503 BC, then it commemorates the date of the first run of the Desert Speeder on the Cairo Metro Giza underworld line.

Egypt had been conquered by the Persian Empire in 525 BC, so it was the Achemenid Pharaoh Darius the First who was on the throne at the time. He was known to be very keen on updating Egypt's archaic transport system, which up until then had run almost entirely with slave-powered locomotives, never very reliable at the best of times.

The Desert Speeder was of course powered by the star-gate drive unit that had been left in the Great Pyramid by the last lot of visiting aliens.
