Plarail advance - Penybontshed - 05-11-2014 Now much as I love the chunky plarail stuff, I have a bit of a soft spot for the advance trains. Anyone else here collect them? £20 delivered from Japan to the UK, got to be good and also they look a little more prototypical Winner! RE: Plarail advance - sunhuntin - 05-11-2014 im keen to get into them, but everytime i decide to, my money gets tied up in another set thats rarer and typically, more expensive and more of a must have. i also want to get the chuggington range. i think it would be neat to run 2 or 3 loops, with the full size versions on one and then the advance version on the other. RE: Plarail advance - Super - 05-11-2014 I do like to watch the Advance videos on YouTube but I am afraid to get into it in case I like it and then.....spend too much more money ![]() Would love to see picturs or videos of what you have Penybontshed ![]() RE: Plarail advance - HankAmericanEngine - 05-12-2014 In regards to the Plarail Advance line, only one engine, soon to be released, catches my eye, and that is the J.N.R. C57 steam engine. Handsome devil that loco is. RE: Plarail advance - Super - 05-12-2014 Plarail Advance Steam engine...I got to see this...do you have a link? RE: Plarail advance - Penybontshed - 05-12-2014 Me to! I am interested to see what it will look like. RE: Plarail advance - HankAmericanEngine - 05-12-2014 I actually saw them in a video on YouTube from this user's video from a Plarail expo; the two steam engines to be released soon are a D51 and a C57. RE: Plarail advance - ActionChugger - 05-12-2014 Just take my money Please!! LOL I am tempted to get into the advance series too...... RE: Plarail advance - Toys_Trains-Things - 05-13-2014 I have a couple of the Plarail Advance Trains that came in a Yahoo lot. They are great but I wouldn't recommend them especially if kids will be involved. My son really want to enjoyplaying with the plarail advance trains. He gets them out only to put them away again because he gets upset when they don't work properly. I (and my sone more so) find them quite difficult to locate on the track and they are much more susceptible to problems from misaligned tracks. They work best when the track is flat and on hard flooring so everything aligns correctly. Old or warped tracks can bring the train to a stand still with traction problems or derailing. They don't work on any regular junctions or just about all other 'special' tracks and climbing an incline (straight or curved) is almost impossible. Some of these problems are overcome with the special plarail advance tracks available for inclines, junctions and stations. If you are able to buy appropriate tracks, make a layout on a hard surface and watch rather than play they would make for a great layout. Otherwise I wouldn't get too excited or you might be let down. Dale. |
