Ripley's Christmas Train Layout 2016 - It is HERE! - ripley802 - 10-24-2016
Ok, I know it is only October and in fact Halloween haven't even happened yet, but at my house we are already working on putting out the Christmas things. From indoor decorations to outdoor decorations and lights, but most important, the Thomas/Plarail custom Christmas layout. I did one last year which was pretty extensive but this one was much more intricate. I am still putting some details into it so not read to show anything yet, but here is a nice place holder for the pics.

If only we Jews had holidays that were worth working on these kinds of things for. What would be so impressive about a Hanukkah, Shavuot or Passover layout? The Christians do such an amazing job at luring others and causing sinful envy....

where does religion come into it? just because its a christmas layout, it could easily be a new years layout, or his cousin's son's birthday layout. or a layout just for the fun of building it and using different techniques for different effects.
if you want to build something for hanukkah or another jewish holiday, whats stopping you?
i build a layout for my clubs christmas show every year, but we are not a religious club. i dont even know if any of them follow a religion. certainly its never mentioned, and thats how it should be. as close to a church we ever get is hiring tables for our big shows.

Yeah, to be honest I am not religious at all, just love the holiday and the time of the year. A Christmas layout is fun to build too, which is also a plus.

I second that, but I got a contingency plan to get a priest to absolve me if I ever get deathly ill just in case there is something in it lol!
Meanwhile I'll happily celebrate Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, Diwali, you name it, bring it on and spread the happiness!!

Well it is not 100% the way I wanted it and I am planning on adding some more LEDs when I have a chance provided Christmas is not here first..
There is sound too. I am hoping to be able to get s short video as well with trains running on all of the tracks.

That is awesome Ripley. I especially like the snow white mountain atop the subway tunnels. Are those light up houses Dept 56? Anxious for the video and some festive music.
