Scaling regarding Tomy/Classic Trackmaster - DavidBoi4781 - 07-20-2024

This is my first ever thread on this site, pls don’t scream at me if this has already been asked a billion times Smile)

So, I have a question regarding the trackmaster/tomy line. What is the best toy line representing the narrow gauge characters, when put next to tomy/trackmaster standard gauge engines (excluding Bandai/capsule/bachmann)?

Hmmmmm, Take a Long for me!

couple ways you can do it

Wooden Railway is the path of least resistance as you don't have to any customs and WR track is a dime a dozen and easily accessible. Also you get Ivo Hugh.

Most characters exist in Take Along/Take N Play however there are some gaps in the form of Bertram Smudger and Proteus.

Bandai Nakayoshi (plastic toys, not the metal Bandai TECS) is my personal pick scale wise, it's essentially the TECS but they're plastic. They made the season 4 narrow gauge engines barring Smudger and paired up with Capsule Plarail track look great. (see Twitter user @/ponpontomos1's customs of the narrow gauge engines)

Surprised the ERTL ones weren't mentioned yet. They do have Smudger and Bertram, but obviously not Freddie, Mighty Mac or any of those created after them. They're a good option and can also fit on Capsule track, the direct "narrow gauge" counterpart. An ERTL Smudger next to a Plarail Henry:

There's also another user who showed engines 1-6 on Capsule track next to Thomas, but I can't remember who that was.
