Double C 62's with Sound

6 Replies, 10454 Views

We have wanted this set of 2 C 62's since we saw a video of a long back to back steam engine train traveling the midwest USA on YouTube. Of course this was never offered on the USA Ebay so another thanks goes out to Yahoo Japan as we never would have found one. The steams sounds and whistles coming from the second engine are awesome. The lead engines headlight lights up, would have liked the trailing engine with one too. Two Brown coaches (with red stripes) came with this set, we had 2 others that came with 2 other steam loco's we had and another thanks goes out to Yahoo Japan for the 5 other brown coaches as you never see these either on USA Ebay. We swapped out its stock motor for a Power Dash so it has no problem pulling the long rake of coaches. We also swapped out the tan traction tires with the new black ones and as you can see (or not see) you can't even notice them. Would love to pick up another 2nd engine that has the sound and run a back to back to back train as we saw another video with 3, long, steam loco's.
We love them!!! [Image: woohoo-dancing-banana-smiley-emoticon.gif]

These are also a good candidate for new black couplers too.

Nice. The C62 Tandem 'Silver Swallow' set is a great looking set. Yahoo Japan is an amazing place for rare trains.... Not so rare in Japan. Smile

I'm not sure what the meaning of the silver swallow is. A quick google mentions silver swallow as good luck, good fortune. The C62 was occasionally tandemed in heavy snow and the Silver Swallow C62 2 would lead.

So joining some dots, maybe it was a sign of good luck for the poor conditions. I'll let you be the judge...

Run them through translate.google.com for english.

Also there is a reasonable priced one on Yahoo.

Fantastic Information, thank you for the links Toys_Trains-Things. Very interesting and I learned a lot especially how detailed these Tomy/Plarail Steam Trains really are. Almost exact replicas.
