Twilight Express Mizukaze

I know we have discussed the retirement of the real Twilight Express in Japan a while ago http://www.blueplastictracks.com/showthr...s+mizukaze But has there been any rumors to the fact that Plarail will be releasing a Limited Edition Twilight Express Mizukaze to coincide with its inaugural run in the spring of 2017? I sure hope so, it is a remarkable looking design.

I sure love the design and hope the rumours are true. I remember reading a train magazine whilst I was in Japan (buy that I mean looking attitude pictures) and saw this train but it was black

Lets be clear...there are no rumors that I know of...I was asking if anyone has heard any rumors. I believe the black one may have been the original prototype.

Interesting design on the front/rear there Super, I'm guessing those bars are not merely decorative but also there to protect the drivers cab from any debris etc... it may hit at high speed?

Take that away and streamline the front though and it's pretty much another Shinkansen, just the colour scheme being different and quite attractive.

I wonder if Tomy would actually reproduce the grill/bars in PlaRail or follow their recent penny-pinching and just use a standard Shinkansen chassis and put a sticker on there to represent the bars?

What I understand is the front and rear are observation decks not the drivers cab who cab is on the very top. I also believe (if I remember correctly) that this is a scenic hybrid train (diesel/electric) and not a high speed bullet train.

I'm still betting they will go with stickers if they make one lol

That is a very nice train. Would make for a pretty cool Plarail item should they release one. I would definately buy one. Big Grin
