What Will the 60th Bring?

With 2018 soon approaching and 2019 right around the corner, I wonder what Plarail has in store for a Limited Release 60th Anniversary Set will be. For the last few decades they have released special sets to commemorate the milestones. Wonder what they have in store? Plarail, if you are reading this and haven't started thinking about it....get busy and make this release epic....please.

I am not absolutely sure exactly how many Plarail Anniversary Sets there are...can we name them all here?

This is all I know of...

1999 - 40th Anniversary C-53 Tin Plate
2009 - 50th Anniversary C-12 Steam Train Arch Bridge and Rail Set

50th Anniversary D-51-50 Commemorative Set (I am not sure if this one is for Plarails Anniversary or the D-51's Anniversary)

Wow, that’s a surprisingly difficult question for me to answer! I notice that Takara Tomy generally prefers engines that are currently or recently in service, so that potentially eliminates a number of cosmetically restored/maintained locomotives on display but not operational. A couple of operational engines that come to my mind are C11-171 and C58-239 SL Ginga but they’ve both been the subject of regular releases in recent years.

But what the heck, a guy can dream, right? With that in mind, here are my suggestions for a potential 60th Anniversary release.

-A new, locomotive driven C57.
-A detailed plastic version of the C53 streamliner.
-An Asia Express Pashina class streamliner. Potentially too controversial because of it use on the Japanese Manchukuo/Manchuria Railroad but in my opinion, one of the most beautiful steam locomotive designs built by Japan.
Maybe a set involving a 6-car '0 series' Doctor Yellow? That would be good to see, or maybe the L0 in normal format, not RC.
Collecting without a clue since 2010
