I was on eBay, and a copy was for sale, by the same guy. 155$CAN for it.

I'm guessing he had an original at some point to get the mould of the face, hopefully the first one you bought was the original.

He actually claims to have 3...none of it makes much sense but I also believe he did a "bait and switch" as the eyebrows in the eBay photo were considerably thicker than the Ron Paul version I received..

Ok, here it is...
Turns out the guys actually pretty cool..
Ucwepn is his hero and it's his mods that were the inspiration for the guy to clone the PG...he has followed this site and others, and has studied the masters at work for quite a while , listened, and took notes...his knowledge of the technical inter workings, motors, and production points, are far beyond my experiences..
He said his dream and goal is for Ucwepn to one day post a review of a M.Arnett original creation on his YouTube site...he then did quite a good impression of Ucwepn's opening lines to the show...he also mentioned Sunhuntin and appreciated your advice about pricing PG on eBay..
He also said he had tried to join BPT but was re-directed or something and had difficulties w/ the process..said he planned to try again soon...
Anyway after over an hour in the phone with him I realized he's just as crazy as I am and even more so about trainsSmile I'd have a beer w/ him...

just checked, and he emailed me through my site a while back, wanting prices for PG and flip face toby, so possibly expect to see a few of the latter at some stage. glad i could trace that, as was starting to feel creeped out there. LOL.

edit for anyone concerned i keep emails... i dont, but weebly keeps a record of messages sent and comments posted on blog entries. reading through them, i am amazed at how many emails ive recieved from one person.
thankfully, its been a while after i gave them a stern word on youtube a while back. after a quick count, ive had almost 100 emails over since roughly 2010, with only 2 in the last year.

I'm just a fan like all of you Guys/Gals! it really is strange hearing people say that I'm their hero etc haha. I do love making videos and I love customizing and am very happy that I can bring crazy new ideas to the scene and inspire people. This site was created because there was nothing like it (a dedicated TOMY/Trackmaster English speaking forum) I know there are a few eastern based forums that deal with the technical aspects and collecting but I have a hard time using the translation tools Tongue

Okay...I'm that guy! Mud is right, ucwpn is my Thomas the Train hero hands down and Sunhunter was very kind to me when I asked him some PG pricing questions. And no I'm not into cloning any flip face anything. Mechanically too challenging. What I would really like to create is a Powerful Gordon Steam along. Now that would be a great train.

Thank you Mud for calling me in person. We got to know one another and I think more than one beer is in order. Guys I want you to know that I take great pride in the trains I create. It took alot of watching ucwpn and the rest of you to get to a level to make a good product. Thank you sharing your knowledge.

I didn't just add the faces to new trains. Although that would have been easier, I made the train as close to the real train as possible. I had to not just make a mold for the face, I had to create molds that could stand up 700 degrees f. There are two main body weights that are custom fitted for the location the are in. There's one in the water tank area that weighs 30.99g and another in the smoke box area that weighs 16.68 g. I made high temperature molds and poured 700 deg molten lead into them to make those weights. I looked all over the united states to find cold roll steal to make the other weights and couldn't find them because the original PG's were made in mm and not standard. There's only one vender in the US who sales mm , it took a lot time sreaching to find him. Oh try to paint two tiny eyes balls perfectly round, it not easy. I added a Tamiya Power Dash motor to give it the extra speed and power you would expect for PG. Guess who gave me that idea? I had to add 80.88 g of measured and hand cut weights to each train. My train is an exact copy of the 200-2002 PG and on the inside of the train I signed, dated and serialized each one.

I read what ya'll wrote about me and I thank you for the kind words you said. And yes to have ucwpn talk about Mike's PG clone unboxing one day would be great! It would put me on cloud nine. Even if he did it in fast mode :^) tttn
