It says there will be only 73 of these minis, available to first 73 customers. Doesn't make much sense for them to get 73 of these done but if that's the case, we will probably be limited to 1 per person. If they are selling them, I don't mind buying as many as allowed and sending it to you guys, but something tells me that it will be typical NY chaos, only because it says "Free special edition Thomas train".

Let's see what happens, I'll keep you guys posted.

would love to get to NY one day. i had a brief stopover at JFK once when heading to canada, and it was amazing to hear the NY accent in person. even more amazing was to get a photo of lady liberty when flying overhead.

Hi guys, unfortunately they gave out only 2018/2 blind bags. When I asked the lady who was holding the basket and giving out minis to people who bought ice cream, she said "these are surprise packs" even when I asked her about the special one. It was obvious she had no idea about the special mini.

There was another lady who seemed to be running things, I asked her and she said that was just for photo shoot, and they weren't giving out a special edition thomas mini. She said that the engine in the picture will be released in June to stores, she also said she works for Mattel.

its actually a relief that its not limted to 73 pieces, that would have been impossible to get hold of. sad that the advertising read like that, though. bet there were a few disappointed kids expecting that nicely decalled thomas.

Thanks Pablo but there are some who have posted receiving the special birthday minis packs.

   

   

NDI13, were they at this Brooklyn or elsewhere? Is it possible these were brought in later in the day somehow? This is very disappointing. Despite being there early we were given only the regular blind bags.

Also, it seems like they actually made packaging which I doubt will be exclusive to this event. Looks like a production package, and is it possible we might start seeing more Birthday engines, not just Thomas as part of the series in June like the lady mentioned?
