Fire Breathing Hiro - (Fire Box)

Very well done Mike. I have also wanted to try a flickering firebox too.
Very cool; nice upgrade, Mike! Now I’m intrigued by the firebox mod. I recall seeing that on old Hornby engines and I’m sure other manufacturers have done it as well. Still, it’s not something you see all that often.
Ok...   I went ahead an istalled LEDs in the cab of the Steam Along Hiro to simulate its fire box breathing.  Take a look with link below, and tell me what you think. Thanks! PGM

Yep, that’s a very cool mod! For some odd and evil reason, I was imagining that scaring all the pets in my house. Maybe the kids and the wife too! Big Grin

Now you don't see something like that everyday. Great work Mike. Is that Firebox light a flasher or flickerer?
They are both blinking, the one on the right is a yellow LED, and the one on the left is a red. The hobby store had only one yellow blinking, so I had to go with a red.

Oh...there are two lights in the cab?
They are flashers. One is yellow the other is red.

Now I see it. Is there a post in the middle of the cab and you have a light on either side of it?
Yes, there was nothing easy about this mod. There were two post in the cab, and wouldn't you know it, they were both right next to the cab windows that I needed to cut out. So, I had to cut into the post as well. Very difficult when you are trying to make fine cuts around the window frame. Messy!
