they are a nice set, ripley. when you do try for one, make sure it has the fat controller included.
i already had one that i bought boxed, and then chris' one i got from the seller of all the korean plarail stuff a few months back. just had to wait until i had some other stuff to send over to him to slip it in, lol.
It was a lovely surprise Sunhuntin!
My plan for coaches is to deface multiple pairs of Annie and Clarabel's and boom! Branchline coaches!
Plarail Ryan

Nice video. I look forward to getting this one as well.
Finally!

Other than the problems you mentioned (and the fake wheels), I really like their version of him.

I believe the reason why Skiff has that chassis is because that's how he's actually built. He doesn't have wheels going through the hull, like in the TrackMaster version.

If you look closely, you'll see he does ride on a railway chassis, like in Plarail.
Refreshing to see a video from you without having to alter the chassis and weights of a new engine just to run on blue tracks.

Question: the Title mentions "with engines teamwork" what is that or is it just referring to the tandem Edward and James?

I agree with the unusual lack of some detail for a Plarail. Its like they forgot all about the rear of Ryan and the writing, what were they thinking? And whats with the hopper? Isn't that suppose to be coal or does the one in the story have a shinny black roof on it?

I see the Large red girder bridges are about the only accessory that Skiff can clear with his sail up. He just sits too high on top of a stock flatbed. What might have worked better is a variation of the idea of running the wheels through the hull. Using the wheel set that they already produce for rolling (see picture) they could have run this offset axle through the hull and with the small wheels it might have been enough for the sail to clear tunnels and risers. Plus it would even look closer to the picture above that DalaGStanator posted.

I know it sounds like I am bashing this new Plarail train but the truth is I like him and if they would have ask me before they released him this way I would have suggested the same. I think I would have also had them check with Ucwepn to copy his custom Ryan details as it is coming along great.
Yes the embossed branding on the back of Ryan is very perplexing indeed!!...also I would have liked to see some creative engineering applied to Skiffs sail with a wobbly spring that would allow it to lower like a drawbridge when contacting an overhang (like Percy's balloon car) , then pop back up once it was cleared...over all though it is still a very nice set!!Smile
Here's this Tongue

That darned activation tab... why did they have to make the Revolution engine's tabs so clunky and big?
Shouldn't have to do more work before you start running the thing!

TMR Flynn looks neat enough, but I prefer the look of the Plarail equivalent, especially with all the tasty details.

Speaking of Plarail, I am a little disappointed that we didn't get to witness Ryan try out the Tidmouth Sheds turntable! I don't recall if the new Gordon or James which were reviewed got a chance on it either, but those were some of my favorite parts of the other reviews.

If you do get the chance to film Ryan on the turntable, I'd very much love to see it. Smile
